Umbraco CMS is a fully featured, secure, stable, and above all user friendly content management system. If you are new to Umbraco CMS or content management systems in general, then here is what you get as standard with Umbraco CMS.
Administration Area
Access the secure administration area by logging in with your username and password. You will instantly be in control of the website's pages, menus, texts, images, and much more. It will all be presented to you in a clear, manageable, and user friendly control panel.
Menu Management
The website's menus are completely configurable, giving you freedom to add, remove, rename, or rearrange menu items exactly how you want them to appear. The menus automatically match the content in the website, making menu management a breeze.
Content Management
Easily add new pages, remove outdated content, or edit that typo you discovered on the front page. If you are used to working with files and folders on your computer then you will immediately feel at home in the Umbraco content management system.
Deleted items are not lost forever, they are stored in a Recycle Bin in case you change your mind and want to restore them later.
Online Editor
The most common task in a content management system such as Umbraco CMS is to edit page content, especially text with images. Umbraco CMS provides a Word-like editor that lets you type in text, highlight and format text, as well as insert images, videos, or other special content. You can also use tables to layout your content on the page just the way you want it, e.g. in a two-column layout.
The editor allows you to work on a page without publishing it on the website, so that you can do multiple revisions and only make the page public when you are ready.
Each page retains its history of changes and it is easy to roll back to a previous revision. There is a full audit trail showing who made each change and when.
User Management
Give access to other users so that they can log in to the administration area to help manage the website. Users can be limited to only specific parts of the content, or be limited to only some specific actions. For example, a consulting copywriter may be allowed to login to create and edit content but not to publish it.
Media Management
Use folders to create and organize a hierarchy of images, documents, and other files in a way that makes sense for you and the way you work with media. Media can be moved or renamed without breaking the links in content that contains the media.
Statistics
View enterprise-class statistics in Google Analytics, using the integration between Google Analytics and Umbraco CMS.
Member Management
Easily define member groups (e.g. Bronze, Silver, Gold) and manage individual members of the website. While the member management is a standard feature, it should be used with an optional Member Area.
